Client looking for a Sr. Citrix Consultant for a 6
month contract in Bolingbrook, IL
Summary:
The candidates' primary responsibility is to provide systems engineering support including design, development, and deployment of enterprise systems and applications. The candidate will also be responsible for creating and maintaining organizational and technical documentation required to sustain application effectiveness.
Job Description:
- Evaluates emerging technologies.
- Work closely with the Enterprise Architect team to build guidelines and instructions for technology implementation.
- Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware / software and enterprise applications.
- Work closely with the project team and/or vendor to design, develop, present, and ultimately deploy enterprise systems and applications for the various business lines.
- Design, build, and maintain virtualization technologies including Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop and VMware vSphere.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- May lead and direct the work of others.
- Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
Qualifications/Competencies/
Experience:
- Must be capable of presenting solutions to the client audience, developing detailed documentation, and driving service delivery of large scale systems deployments, server migrations, systems integration, server consolidation, and virtualization projects
- 8 years systems administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server platform including architecture, design, best practices, implementation, and maintenance.
- 7 years experience with virtualization technologies including Citrix, VMware, thin-client technologies, Terminal Services, etc.
- In depth understanding of supporting technologies: IIS, WINS/DHCP/DNS, Anti-Virus, Systems Management, Optimization Tuning, High Availability configurations (Microsoft Clustering, etc.)
- Familiar with designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining the Microsoft System Center suite of products.
- Experience with network load balancers such as F5 BIGIP or Citrix Netscaler is a plus
- Storage Area Network (SAN) experience is advantageous.
- Have a working knowledge of powershell scripting.
- Relevant Technical Certifications (MCSE, MCP, VCP) and/or other preferred, however relevant work experience will be considered.
- Strong verbal and written skills necessary for clear definition of scope, technical solutions, project deliverables, appropriate system documentation and client communication.
- Experience in the identification of various problems, along with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to assess client needs.
- Ability to participate and interact in a team environment.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
