Summary:
The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, the purchase of various product lines, analyzing inventory levels, evaluating and developing procurement strategies and improving the end to end Supply Chain for the company.
Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Agent manages the purchase of various product lines in the HVAC industry.
This position will be responsible for managing the supplier relationships and supporting the strategic direction of the Purchasing Department.
This role is highly strategic and analytical.
Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and sourcing for product lines.
Develop strategies to meet inventory levels, delivery times and department objectives.
Negotiation of stock up orders and extended discounts and terms with vendors.
Drives the selection of suppliers, negotiates and maintains performance to expectations.
Provide leadership in and develop an understanding of and insight into the market for the product lines assigned; including industry trends, cost drivers, pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives.
Supports the Inside Sales team to achieve cross-functional targets related to revenue, margin, delivery, and quality.
Accountable for uploading and implementing pricing changes, new part number set-up, and preparing and processing purchase orders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Demonstrable experience in purchasing and vendor relations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to be extremely detailed and organized.
Experience working with MS Office, including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
